FAQ
Why does your product have a shorter warranty than dealership offered products?
When our products are professionally applied, we stand behind our products performance and will happily offer our standard warranties, being 8 years on 2 stage Polymer and Lifetime on Ceramic.
We offer our products for self application for convenience and affordability for our customers. However this also means we cannot guarantee our application standards have been adhered to which may ultimately affect the products performance.
As such, whilst we expect our products to perform based on our standard warranties, we have to reduce the warranty term when self applied.
I’m not keen on self application! Can I have the product professionally applied?
Absolutely! We have a network of national application professionals who will be able to provide a competitive quote for application in your area. Whilst we have standard rates agreed with them, the price will depend on the condition of the vehicle and the preparation required.
Our application team will provide an application audit report and our standard warranties will then apply.
How easy is self application and how do I activate my warranty?
The 2 stage polymer product is easy to apply and can be done by anyone that is capable of applying a basic wax.
All we require is a completed application checklist and a few photos of the application process (as detailed in the checklist) and your warranty document will be emailed to you.
We offer full instructional videos and instructions. Our products have been specifically developed to balance ease of application with long lasting performance.
How can I be sure a product is actually a premium product and will perform as claimed?
Ceramic paint protection chemicals require highly specialised facilities and equipment to ensure production is sterile. Any contamination during this process will likely compromise the coating. If the manufacturing facilities are suitable, this will typically be advertised.
Given the nature of the facilities required, many brands are simply re-sellers of the same products. This adds the number of parties in the distribution chain and therefore cost to the end customer. Ensure you are dealing with either the manufacturer directly or their exclusive retail partner for your region.
Why do you recommend having VanGard ceramic paint protection professionally applied?
Some manufacturers use a process called automotive reflow technology. This process involves applying a special powder based clear coat with a heat gun. The heat melts the powder which then flows over the surface of the vehicle, creating a smooth, glossy and even finish that protects against environmental damage.
The amazing thing about this technology is that it continues to flow after the initial application, but if exposed to direct sunlight or elements like rain or snow it will eventually dry out. This can then cause brush strokes and imperfections on the vehicles surface.
Ceramic paint protection can help extend the life of automotive reflow technology, protecting the underlying paint and clear coat from environmental damage. However, if the ceramic coating is too hard or applied too thickly, it may not allow the clear coat to flow as smoothly as it should. When applied too thickly or quickly the ceramic coating can become brittle and crack or peel off over time.
This cracking can leave unsightly marks on the surface of the vehicle and allow moisture and other environmental elements to penetrate the clear coat, causing it to fade and lose its gloss.
To ensure an application that is going to preserve and protect your paintwork be recommend having your ceramic paint protection applied at your local application centre. If however, you choose to apply the ceramic paint protection yourself we advise taking your time and following the instructions.
